Alexander homes aims to raise funds for the building or buying of home(s) for deaf adults who are no longer able to live independently in old age.  Care becomes problematic for those living with them.  Deaf people need to live amongst their own kind who share the same language (BSL) British Sign Language.  This kind of environment can alleviate mental health issues, so that instead of being mentally ill they become mentally well!

Two different properties would be purchased: a bungalow for the deafblind offering respite care for both children and adults, giving carers a well earned break and a house for those who are deaf.  There are far fewer homes for these people than there is for the hearing population, who have plenty options to choose from, allowing family members to visit regularly.
